Our summer term starts on Thursday 1st May with rehearsals preparing us for our concert ‘Sounds of the Sea’ in July. With choral music from folk tunes and shanties to Anglo-Irish composer Stanford’s Songs of the Fleet and a soft splash of the seal from Eric Whitacre we have a wide variety of music to enjoy. It’s a pity Staffordshire is so far from the sea but we can dream!
Most exciting for this term is the collaboration we will be doing with Hallam Choral Society for our first joint concerts with them. It’s 5th July in Eccleshall and 12th July in Sheffield, both afternoon concerts. Make that a date with us!
Does this programme interest you? Would you like to sing with us? The start of term is a good time to begin so contact our membership secretary on info@stonechoral.org.uk to find out more.
